Mint won the TechCrunch40 Top Company Award this week from more than 700 candidates. The honor, which comes with a $50,000 prize, is well-deserved. Mint simply allows its users to explore their spending patterns and discover potential savings, with the click of a button. I was not only one of their original angel investors, but there at the event to proudly witness the compliments flow:
"Aaron Patzer [the Founder & CEO of Mint] executed flawlessly" commented Roelof Botha from Sequoia Capital, who was one of the judges on the panel during Mint's session. Esther Dyson, who was on the same panel indicated that she would use Mint. Matt Coffin, Founder of Lowermybills.com who sold his company to Experian for $330 million, was a big fan from the audience.
Congratulations are in order to the whole Mint team ! Aaron finalized his remarks during his presentation with an even bigger goal: "Turning America into a country with a positive savings rate once again" - Now that sounds like a real winner to me.
